New Forest Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers
Greyfriars Community Centre, Ringwood
The New Forest Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers aims to continue the crafts of weaving, spinning and dyeing through our own practice and taking awareness of these crafts into the public domain.
– Meetings are held between 10am–4pm on the second Saturday of every month (except August) at Greyfriars Community Centre, Ringwood
– Latest programme of events is available here
– Visitors are very welcome without prior notice (there is a small fee of £4)
The NFWSD was formed 40 years ago and presently has approx 50 members of various age groups, skills and interests but who above all share a love of textiles and a desire to learn some of the skills required to hand produce them, as has been carried out for hundreds of years.
However we also look to the future and the new technologies emerging. We are affiliated to the National Association of Guilds of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers and share its aims of preserving and promoting our core skills of weaving, spinning and dyeing to improve the standard of these crafts and encourage public awareness. We hope you will enjoy finding out more about us and may be tempted to visit our regular guild meetings.
